Wrocław, the main city of the Lower Silesia, is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland. It is situated at the bottom of the Sudeten Mountains on the Oder River and crossed by many tributaries of the river. this unique city is situated on 12 islands and has over a hundred of bridges.
Its walls are marked with rich and turbulent history. The Tumski Isle (Ostrów Tumski) reminds of the early Middle Ages. It is famous for its perfectly preserved and one of the most beautiful complexes of sacral architecture in Europe. Another building from this period is the City Hall which belongs to the most magnificent gothic edifices in Central Europe. In Wrocław you can also admire one of the biggest Polish baroque interiors which remained till our time. It is called Aula Leopoldina and is situated in the University Main Edifice.
