We have been cooperating with the Ad Spectatores Theatre, known for its innovative approach to the stage art, for years now and it makes us very happy. We have been brought together by artistic energy and this has resulted, among other things, in the creation of the ‘Room Service’ play. It’s an intimate performance which engages the audience in a non-obvious way and becomes a bridge for an exchange between actor and audience, between fiction and reality. The play was created specifically for the Art Hotel and it is performed exclusively here.
We organise inspiring author meetings where we host writers, poets and publicists. Moreover, we also cooperate with the EMG publishing house and actively co-create events accompanying literary festivals, such as the International Crime Fiction Festival and the Bruno Schulz Festival. A part of our rich library is the fruit of various literature-related activities – autographed books delight our Guests, who reach out to their reading with joy.
We are true gourmets of literature and it is our great pleasure to share it with others. With the youngest adepts of the reading art in mind, and as a result of our friendship with the Czas Dzieci (Children’s Time) Foundation, an unusual (and tasty!) literary menu has been created. It is a recommendation of three sets of books for children of different age ranges (pre-school, early childhood and school) presented in the form of a starter, a main dish and a dessert.
Our cultural acitivities also extend to the world of film. We have been cooperating for years with, amongst others, the Nowe Horyzonty Cinema (New Horizons Cinema). Our facility hosts directors, actors and scriptwriters too. The Art Hotel has also, on more than one occasion, become the backdrop for film adaptations, e.g. “Wygrany” (“The Winner’) directed by Wiesław Saniawski or “Skołowani” (‘Confused’) by Jan Macierewicz.
Music is yet another pillar of our cultural activity. Not only do we cooperate with the Vertigo Jazz Club and talented artists as part of the Vertigo Summer Jazz festival, but we also organise our own concerts, inviting great musicians to enter our artistic world. Our concerts are often accompanied by the sounds of a piano which is, mind you, more than one hundred years old and adorns the interiors of the Theatre Room every day. Our stage stars can really bring out the best of it!
During the 20th anniversary of the Art Restaurant, music played a particularly vital role. A duo of artists - Piotr Pakowski (piano) and Kamil Wrzos (vocals) – enriched our anniversary celebrations with their music and singing.
History is a part of a culture too and we cannot deny it. That’s why, during the 20th anniversary of the Art Hotel’s existence, we decided to organise a series of guided literary walks. We believe that art and history are so much more than tales of the past only. For us, it’s also a source of inspiration to create new stories that our reality writes every day.
At the Art Hotel, culture is alive! It's a breathing, impressive being, almost human! Come and take part in our events, experience the art in these soulful boutique interiors.
