We try to take care of them just as well as we do their owners.About the beginnings of a beautiful friendship with EkostrażWe had the pleasure of implementing various projects related to animals but – as they say – “the appetite grows with eating.” We came to the conclusion that we need someone from whom we can learn to help animals on a larger scale. A deep desire awoke in us to build a permanent, closer relationship with an organization that supports pro-animal initiatives and enjoys public trust. We wanted the fruit of such a relationship to be long-term cooperation that would allow us to engage in various tasks and directions. “Moreover, we know that a constant mutual exchange of experiences creates the best possible solutions and builds mutual trust” – says Agnieszka Radzikowska, director of Art Hotel in Wrocław.We initially defined the scope of assistance we would like to give to a certain institution. We then began the search for a specific organization. Unfortunately, the pandemic effectively thwarted our plans for two years. When we returned to accomplishing our original objectives, with the help of Wrocław friends, we managed to establish contact with Marta Zienkiewicz-Barańska from the Wrocław Ekostraż. “When I met Marta, literally within a few minutes of conversation, I knew we would find a common language and do something good,” says Anna Wałęsa, marketing and public relations manager at Art Hotel.During the conversation, new ideas were born, and the first declarations were made. We were delighted with the approach and care for animals at the Animal Protection Association “Ekostraż” in Wrocław. We want not only to help occasionally but also to support the foundation in educating society about pragmatic assistance to animals. We hope to conduct educational workshops for parents and children on how to care for pets, particularly in preparation for adoption.The Wrocław Ekostraż has been rescuing domestic and wild animals for 12 years, as well as educating and defending animal rights in court. They have collaborated with the city of Wrocław to protect hedgehogs in the city that are endangered while “wandering” at night through urban areas. We hope that educational panels on this topic can also be organized inside Art Hotel. We are confident that through such cooperation and knowledge, both the residents of Wrocław and our Guests from various parts of Poland will benefit.Common missionA special mission regarding animals is to encourage the local (and not only) community to adopt consciously. We would like to give animals a chance for a new home that they deserve and wait for for long years. One of the proposals encouraging adoption is our offer of free stay in the hotel for adopted pets. “Collections are constantly needed,” says Marta Zienkiewicz-Barańska from the Wrocław Ekostraż. The demand is enormous, which is why we want to contribute a brick from ourselves. We will publish Ekostraż's collections and support them in their overarching noble mission. The first half of the year has been very kind to us and has been rich in various ART-istic events. On Friday, June 23, 2023, there was a special joint reading for children! We couldn't have dreamed of a better date for shared integration – the end of the school year, the joyful beginning of the holidays, and Father's Day. Art Hotel has been collaborating with the Czas Dzieci Foundation for years and as part of this year's edition of the “Intergenerational Literature Festival Dads and Grandpas,” there was no lack of space for another meeting from the “Men's Reading” cycle. This is a unique project inviting men who are authorities in their professional field, enjoying success, respect, and sympathy.This time, the invitation went to the head chef of Art Hotel in Wrocław, Grzegorz Pomietło. For 26 years, Mr. Grzegorz has had a decisive influence on the flavors you'll find in the seasonal menu and the children's menu at Art Restaurant and Cafe. The head chef accepted this great honor with joy and took charge of promoting literature among the youngest on Friday.The reading took place in the hotel’s Apartment 324, in an intimate atmosphere. It was not an obvious place, though it couldn't have been otherwise – the rich library in the apartment creates a unique and artistic character to this place. The Chef read here the most delicious fragments of prose – literally and metaphorically! As it turns out, there are quite a few delicacies in children's literature! It was an hour full of culinary journeys, flavors, and adventures of the main characters of books like: “The Best Soup in the World” written by Susanne Isern and Mar’a Ferrero and “Rymo-Flavors, that is what to eat where in the world” by Szymon Barabach and Katarzyna Fryz. The overarching theme was what we love most in Art Restaurant – delicious food.From this friendly cooperation with the foundation and joint reading emerged a unique initiative, under the appetizing title “Literary Menu.” One could boldly risk the formulation that this is an original project on a global scale! The menu consists of proposals of three valuable children's books presented in the form of an appetizer, main course, and dessert. They are dedicated to children in various age groups (preschool, early school, and school age). Thanks to joint efforts, a kind of recommendation for valuable literature was created, which will be ideal for the ritual of shared family or individual reading.
